Date Posted: 2012-01-13 16:55 New Issue: U3O8 Holdings Plc It is the objective of U3O8 Holdings plc to develop into a mid-tier uranium development company, having a portfolio of exploration assets in South America. The Company is currently admitted to trading on PLUS with an approximate market capitalisation of £1.2 million.
The Directors identified Chile as a country which could potentially host substantial uranium deposits.
The Group's key Exploration Concessions, all of which are in Chile, total 9,100 hectares made up of 22 claims totalling some 6,700 hectares at Peralillo and 8 claims totalling 2,400 hectares at Poñen. The Group will endeavour to identify new areas prospective for uranium mineralisation on an on-going basis, initially in Chile and Argentina.
The Group carried out an initial sampling programme in 2008 to generate sufficient data to allow the Directors to take a commercial decision on whether further exploration was warranted. The decision has now been taken to proceed with further investigation at sites at Peralillo and Poñen.
The programme at Peralillo is designed to prioritise selected radon anomalies and to perform "scout" drilling. Exploration at Poñen will consist of carrying out radon gas surveys in order to identify an area where early scout drilling could be performed. Work will also be done to identify other properties that may lead to new exploration targets.
